While they may not have a lawful reason to refuse coming to work can the employer be liable if the employee should get sick with covid after returning even if there is no way to know for sure if they got it at work.

not really. We only have a few people go in to do essential tasks but one at a time

31:05
what if your spouse or child is high risk/compromised immune system? What are the employees rights to request accommodations to telecommute?

36:03
If someone does have to quarantine for 14 days who pays the employees?

36:37
Is it likely that Workers Compensation will begin to exclude pandemics?

41:27
The New York Forward Form is an excellent checklist.

42:35
what about employees with children? can accommodations be made due to lack of childcare or remote learning.

42:37
How long in New York can a person be furloughed?

44:33
Question: Many of our staff have children living with them in their early 20's and we were concerned about the travel of those children.. We have to self quarantine if we travel to a hot spot. Is it inappropriate to have the question asked has anyone in your home traveled to a hot spot within 14 days?

48:45
Where does this magic 14 day number come from? How can anyone believe that on day 14 you can infect someone but on day 15 you are free and clear?

49:17
You can reach Andy at akimler@vmmlegal.com.

Questions allowed to ask unfortunately is a slippery slope.

58:48
An employer recently surveyed their staff "how will virtual learning impact your ability to work your current schedule, and if likely/somewhat likely what percentage?" Can employers require employees to answer questions like this?

01:04:56
Also whenever we go back into the office, we will not be allowed to have meetings - we'll be zooming from our desks. So....if we are not dropping the ball, and not allowed to collaborate in person, why not let us all stay remote? (Not an actual question, just agreeing with what Holly read)

01:05:23
We have had that question - and we responded the way Mr. Kimler just commented on.

01:16:32
Yes!

01:17:19
Tagging on Clair's comment -- lots of orgs are going to be downsizing their Offices so NYC real estate will drop.

Great Session!
