Has anyone here ever worked with Bonnie Warren in New Orleans (Brennan's)? She passed away yesterday.

16:30
Hi all!

16:56
hi everyone. it’s pretty darn cold here too

17:16
Hello from New Zealand everyone!

17:17
Larry made the Oklahoman with Green Book sites, too

17:30
Hello from Miami - where it’s 78 degrees!

19:43
We got six inches of awesome snow here. Love it.

24:09
No sound

24:13

24:15

26:08
Fun lovers, please send me your questions I'll relay them to Diana when she joins us.

37:03
Outlines, 100%!!!

37:38
My first question: what if you discover your anticipated story doesn’t exist or should be preempted by something else more pressing?

43:18
Oops, that was NatGeo, not Afar.

45:05
Ace work Jill!

46:49
Are there any beautiful travel writing examples that incorporate good SEO practices?

46:52
Will we be able to access power-point? Where?

47:43
I’d love to get a copy of power point so i can add personal notes to it. It’s very good.

48:11
Agree!

48:19
Ditto to a copy of power point

48:37
Yes, please address SEO

48:41
Me too, if Diana is willing. Thank you!

48:42
Grab your phones and take pics of the screen :)

48:46
Me too, thank you. This is great.

48:52
Happy to get that PowerPoint. Can email a link (I think this is a Google presentation) or we can post it on the site.

49:25
SEO is such a huge topic that we have a whole session on it on March 30. And that is a great question.

49:34
Thanks, Catharine.

50:24
By the "site," I mean on the professional development tab on satw.org

50:57
By the way, everyone, Jill's story appeared in NatGeo, not AFAR. My error and we'll get that corrected on the slides.

51:23
Must run. Mid-year board meeting soon. Thanks all and be well!

51:46
On the site or a link to power point would be great @catharinehamm. This is great. I missed first 15 but assume this is being recorded

52:31
Terry, it is being recorded. I will double check with Anna McManus to see the time line for getting this up on the site.

54:53
I can send the recording in the post-webinar email!

55:28
Thanks Anna! I had to miss the first few minutes

56:27
@JillR, this is a sign you should repurpose the story for Afar

56:37
Diana has joined us. Send in your questions.

57:47
The presentation is excellent. thank you Diana.

58:18
Thank you! It’s an honor to be here.

59:22
Got to say I’ve been really enjoying the PD sessions lately - great stuff - well done!

59:47
Mary, great to hear. Send us ideas for more!

01:01:35
Does Diana have any tips for repurposing a story for another outlet? In other words, can a writer hang onto the shape or a story but try to find new powerful words

01:02:11
can you discuss incorporating SEO without jeopardizing the power and flow of your story especially your nut graf.

01:02:34
Thanks, Mary! We're so enthusiastic about these webinars and are happy to hear you're enjoying and learning too!

01:06:18
Love Vani!!! <3

01:06:43
Vani was wonderful to work with at LAT?

01:08:03
Catherine please do send us the link to your SEO article. I’ve written for sites where they extremely SEO focused to the point it kills your creativity. thanks

01:10:41
a strong phonetic word, perhaps?

01:11:30
This was great. Thank you!

01:11:31
haha, love Catherine’s straight face asking if there is word other than hoot. She is a hoot!

01:11:41
this was great - thanks!

01:11:46
Please address story length and how to set the scene — as in Jill’s story — and still get everything Mabel the reader needs. The magazine I edit limits destination stories to 900 words and it’s hard to get travel writers to adhere to that word count.

01:11:51
Thank you so much Diana! That was great!

01:11:51
thank you Diana,

01:11:52
