At many of our ZOOM meetings here - several people get on about 5 minutes in advance and no mics are muted and we just talk and laugh - it is a good release

Spreading virtual conferences out over a few days is helpful - gives a chance to reflect and interact and still get sessions in around the remainder of our teaching, etc schedules. Budgets are likely to be extremely tight at many universities and I don't see that changing soon.

Thanks for the comment. I totally agree. Seems like everyone seems more comfortable and informal.

Will some of the newer software platforms be demonstrated/interacted with during the conference? That could be super helpful - ConceptBoard, Miro, Mural, Slack, etc etc

And then those using can give advice on economic models (memberships, how they work, which have educational discounts, etc). I know we found their websites a bit confusing at first to determine costs....

what a great idea! I think we should also get these into the Teaching resource page on the website -- Steven Webber is overseeing that. (KA, maybe you can assist?)

Same at VT—also problems with FERPA and what the university will let us use

I'm happy to but probably not the best person - I don't use them much, but do have to pay for them and make decisions for our college.

my questions for all is: have your spring breaks been cancelled? Do the days of Wed-Friday work for you? Is Friday the best day for you to get free of your work? Finally, what would you think of spreading key events out over the whole week, M-F, but mainly later in the day and not using the whole day --

Virginia Tech canceled Spring Break. No specific day better—we meet give days a week

Ellen, yes, Spring break for us is cancelled. Wed-Friday work for us - spreading out events is a great idea. If some can be in morning and some in afternoon (not all in the afternoon for instance), that could be very helpful for people.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Indiana University has cancelled all breaks. Spreading the sessions out is best. We have teaching or other obligations every day fo the week.

Spring break has been cancelled for us and I would also agree, if we can spread things out, that would be great

Miami U. - No Spring Break (5 days spread out over semester instead). W-F conference spread out would work best.
