You can still present a prerecorded event as Live, it depends on how it is scripted, directed, edtied, and streamed.

Yes, pre-recorded recommended b/c presenter(s) can participate in the chat.

If you have the speaker on the call to answer questions during and after the presentation, it's an added value to the attendees.

Are you finding some days of the week and times of the days have been consistently working better than others? What times are no longer working as well as more things have been opening up?
