Hi all. We’ll take questions in a bit. So feel free to ask whatever is on your mind.
How can cruise lines be selling cruises in Aug when they have ~42,000 crew still at sea, awaiting repatriation?
Are there particular cruise lines at risk of not coming back? Any that might be merged within the three big companies? How soon will we start to hear that ships built in the 90s are being mothballed?
What about Antarctica? We all want to see penguins.
Heading out to lunch with an editor, so gotta run. Thanks Fran, Gene, Hannah and Vicky. Bye y'all!
Good-bye to buffets?
Anyone talking about better evacuation plans—in case of the worst—to make cruisers more confident?
I'm concerned about how the staff will be able to enforce it when difficult people refuse to leave the room/restaurant/etc if they show a fever.
Where are all these inactive ships parked? They are bigger than the conventional SUV and driveway.
What do you all anticipate about press trips - are the cruise lines going to be anxious to do them or skittish?
25 ships parked in the Manila harbor right now: https://www.cruisemapper.com
so why is it Gene and Vicky that you are not worried about catching Covid.
I've had a feeler about cruising on a barge in France next year. (They've pretty much written off 2020.)
